EFC – Elmer Fishing Contest is a contest within Elmer that started already in 2001. It’s of course all about catching the biggest fish. In earlier years we had other fishing methods then flyfishing in the contest and it was then a matter of trying to catch different specifies using different fishing methods. But from year 2005 and on, EFC has been modified and now only includes flyfishing as fishing method.

The different species gives different points. All salmon-related species as well as pike gives 3 “specie-points” and all other species gives one “specie -point”. The score a member receives for a catch is calculated by multiplying the “specie-points” with the position within a class. For the first position within a specie-class, 3 points is received. For the second position, 2 points is received and for the third position, one point. Only the top 3 positions within each specie-class are included in EFC. But it could of course happen that it will be ties with a class if there are several catches done with the same weight of the fish. As an example of the calculation of the score, a first position within the trout-class gives 9 points and a third position within the bleak-class gives one point.

We also have an ongoing contest for all the years accumulated within Elmer, a so called All-Time-High contest. To have a position within the All-Time-High table has now become extremely important and something all of us within Elmer fights hard for! But now a day it is very hard to catch a fish that will be qualified for the All-Time-High table…
