One of the main differences between flyfishing and other ways of fishing is that it's so easy and cheap to create your own baits. Trough flytying your fishing interest can get into a whole other dimenssion, it can become an interest within the interest! You can spent alot of time at home by your tying vise tying flies keeping your fishing alive even thought the dark seassons.  For me the flytying is almost as much fun as the fishing itself!

In this section I am trying to mix both tradition and new thinking when it comes to patterns, materials and tying techniques. When you have been tying for a few years you discover that there are actually not that many unique patterns out there, many patterns are just different versions of already well known flies. How many times do you come across a fly that really makes you look twice? Of course there are some frames that we have to stick to that limit us, but I still think that we are a little to much bound by tradition and not always allow ourselves to let go and experiment fully.

With the attidute "everyting can be used as flytying materials til proven differently" you can find alot of new things that will improve your patterns!

I have been trying to create the step by step descriptions in this section to be easily understood and I hope you will enjoy them. Just remember what it is that makes a good flytyer; patients, careful and ful of fantasy!
